NEET News : NEET PG Exam Postponement Petition Hearing Today-Supreme Court Receives Complaint about Delayed Exam Center Allotment; Exam Scheduled for August 11

NEET News | The NEET PG 2024 Exam is scheduled for August 11. Students had filed a petition in the Supreme Court on August 8, requesting the postponement of this exam. The Supreme Court will hear the petition today, August 9.

The petition was filed due to the delayed allotment of exam centers, which the candidates claim will cause difficulties in reaching their designated centers.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBE) has denied the allegations of NEET-PG 2024 exam paper leaks being spread via social media, particularly through Telegram Messenger.

Admit Cards Released on August 8 Over 2 Lakh Students to Participate Exam centers were allotted on July 31, and the locations of these centers were announced. The exam centers for candidates were disclosed on August 8, along with the release of admit cards.

The petition argues that although the intention is to prevent cheating, over 2 lakh students might face difficulties. Reaching the exam centers may be challenging, especially when train options are limited and flight costs are high.

According to Bar and Bench, petitioner Vishal Soren stated that centers were allotted in cities different from their hometowns. With over 2 lakh students expected to participate and exams being held at 185 centers, arranging train travel and reaching these centers in such a short time is nearly impossible.

Petition Also Highlights Need for Transparency in Valuation The petitioner has also requested that valuation of all four paper sets be conducted transparently. The purpose of filing the petition is to prevent any fraudulent activities in the exam.

Previously, there were numerous claims on X (formerly Twitter) about NEET-PG paper leaks. Online screenshots suggested that papers were being sold on Telegram for ₹70,000.

NBE Denies Leak Claims The Medical Exam Board issued a statement on August 8, assuring students that the exam papers are not yet prepared and that the claims circulating on social media are false.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has debunked the rumors about NEET-PG 2024 paper leaks being spread via social media.

How to Check Your City Center Candidates can download the city information slip from nbe.edu.in or natboard.edu.in. Originally, this slip was scheduled to be released on July 29 but was postponed by NBEMS.

NBEMS has only provided the names of cities where exam centers will be located. This is to help candidates plan their travel for the exam day based on the city information slip.

Exam Was Initially Scheduled for June The exam, originally planned for June, was postponed due to several disputes arising from issues with NEET-UG results. Admit cards were released on August 8.

Over 1000 Centers for NEET PG 2024 For NEET PG, over 1000 test centers were established across 259 cities. The test is conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). Through this exam, MBBS students can gain admission to top medical colleges for Master of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) courses. This year, NEET PG will be conducted online.
